Other Achievements in Last 15-Years

  • Acknowledged as the ‘Best University in the country’ for the exemplary services rendered to the community and selected for ‘Indira Gandhi NSS National Award’ for the session 2004-05.

  • Again in 2005-06, Dr. Anuradha Verma of M.R.P.S.P. Girls P.G. College, Barabanki, received this prestigious ‘Indira Gandhi NSS National Award’ award in the category of Best Program Officer.

  • Department of Biochemistry has obtained a grant of Rs. 85 Lacs and Department of Microbiology has obtained a grant of Rs. 35 Lacs from DST under FIST Program in 2004.

  • Department of Adult, Continuing & Extension education received a grant of Rs. 20.25 Lacs from UGC under Tenth Plan.

  • Department of Physics and Electronics has obtained a grant of Rs. 32 Lacs from UGC for starting M.Sc-Electronics under emerging area scheme in 1994.

  • 21 National Seminars/workshops and 3 refresher courses have been organized by various departments of the varsity.

  • A good number of teachers of various departments have visited abroad in last five years and one teacher of Environmental Sciences Department visited 22nd (2007) & 24th (2009) Indian Antarctica Expedition.

  • A senior teacher of university was conferred upon “Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Award” in 2000.

  • It was the first varsity of the state to initiate and organize ‘Intercollegiate Youth Festival’ in 1998.
