The creation of Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a response to
the regional and national need for creating a vibrant, quantitative and interdisciplinary programme in Earth
Sciences. In view of importance of this field of study, Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences (IEES)
is established in the year 2021 in the residential campus of the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya
situated in the holy city of Ayodhya. The primary mission of the institute is to produce skilled, independent, employable
and motivated students to provide service and leadership at the national and international level. Keeping these points in
mind the university started M.Sc., Geophysics, M.Sc., Geology and M.Sc./MA Geography courses.
The vision of the Institute is to establish a Centre for Excellence of Earth and Environmental Sciences, inventive research and outreach
that focus on the function of the environmental systems and interactions with the society.
